Lifeguarding Training- Ages 15+
Upon successful completion of written and practical exam, students will receive the four certifications required to be eligible for lifeguard employment.
- American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification (3 year certification)
- First Aid for Lifeguarding (3 year certification)
- CPR for the Professional (1 year certification)
- AED (1 year certification)
Pool and classroom sessions will be held at The Pennington School. Fee includes participant manual, pocket mask and certification cards. Participants must be 15 years old prior to the start of the first class and must pass the prerequisite swim test. Participants MUST attend all classes.
Pre-requisite swim test consists of:
- Swim 300 yards (free style, side stroke & breast stroke)
- Tread water
- Swim length of pool, retrieve 10lb brick and swim back in 1 minute 40 seconds

American Red Cross Lifeguard Challenge
This course is for current lifeguards to update their American Red Cross Lifeguard certification. Participants will need to prove their practical skills and written knowledge for a 3 year re-certification. Certifications include: CPR/AED for the professional, Lifeguard and First Aid. Call for availability during session dates.

CPR/AED for the Professional
The purpose of this training is to teach professional rescuer (those with a duty to act and provide care) the skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies, including the use of an automated external defibrillator for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Review/Challenge course also offered. Call for availability during session dates.
